Rooted in Purpose: Why Hyman Consulting Champions Black Communities


At Hyman Consulting, our mission is more than a business strategy—it’s a calling. As a Black and woman-owned business, we recognize the critical gaps in mental health education, workforce development, and leadership training, particularly in underserved Black communities. Our work is driven by a deep commitment to empowering individuals, strengthening organizations, and fostering systemic change in spaces where access to resources has historically been limited.

Why We Do What We Do

Growing up and working in social services, we’ve seen firsthand how Black individuals and communities often face systemic barriers to professional development, mental health support, and leadership opportunities. Lack of representation, cultural stigma around mental health, and inequities in workplace advancement continue to be challenges. That’s why we built Hyman Consulting—to be a resource, a bridge, and a voice for change.

We believe that Black professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders deserve training, coaching, and consulting services that meet them where they are—rooted in lived experiences, cultural awareness, and a commitment to equity. Whether we’re coaching Black executives, training mental health champions, or consulting with organizations to create inclusive workplaces, we bring the perspective of lived experience and deep industry expertise.

Our Impact: Supporting Underserved Communities

From partnering with the state and local governments on suicide prevention programs to working with grassroots organizations, schools, and corporations that serve Black communities, we ensure that our training and consulting services lead to real impact. Our focus areas include:

  • Mental Health & Suicide Prevention – We equip community leaders, educators, and workplaces with the tools to address mental health challenges in culturally competent ways.

  • Workforce Development & Leadership Training – We help professionals grow in their careers, navigate leadership roles, and access executive coaching tailored to their unique experiences.

  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) Strategies – We work with businesses and organizations to build inclusive cultures that support and elevate Black employees.
